Educational excursions offer valuable learning opportunities beyond the classroom. On Wednesday, June 11, 2024, third-year architecture students from Rivers State University (RSU) embarked on an excursion to the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC).
Led by Professor Anthony Enwin, the group consisted of over sixty students and six lecturers. The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into architectural design and construction.
Upon their arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by DASAC’s Rector, Professor Enoidem B. Usoro. She commended the students for their dedication in traveling from Rivers State to Akwa Ibom State and encouraged them to fully utilize the learning opportunities available at DASAC. Notably, Professor Usoro is an alumna of Rivers State University.
The Rector was accompanied by the Registrar, Mr. Aniediabasi Udofia, who introduced the staff members present, including Mr. Johnson Akwaowo, the Bursar, and Mr. Steve Ubiam, the Commercial Manager. Following the introductions, Mr. Ubiam guided the RSU team on a comprehensive tour of DASAC facilities.
