Professor Enoidem B. Usoro, formerly the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and later Administration) at the University of Uyo, now serves as the Rector of the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC), a prestigious appointment made by the Akwa Ibom State Government.
A renowned scholar in skill development and education, Professor Usoro has made significant contributions to Business Education globally. She has authored over fifty-seven publications as books and journal submissions nationally and internationally. In 2016, she delivered the 49th Inaugural Lecture at the University of Uyo, focusing on “Business Education: Skills Acquisition and Development for Posterity.”
Some of her leading works on entrepreneurship and skill development include Entrepreneurship and Innovation (October 2023), Women Entrepreneurs, Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development in Nigeria (January 2022), Entrepreneurial curriculum guidance on vocational choices of senior secondary school students in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria (January 2023), Mentoring of Business Education undergraduate students through the utilization of functional facilities for skill acquisition in the University of Uyo (June 2020), Women Entrepreneurs Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development in Nigeria (October 2012), and many others.Â
She is actively involved in several professional bodies, such as the National Association of Women in Academics (NAWACS) and the Association for the Advancement of Vocational Education of Nigeria, where she serves as the National Treasurer.
Recognized globally for her academic excellence and visionary approach to skill development, Professor Usoro was selected by the Governor Umo Eno-led administration to be the pioneering Rector of DASAC. Her leadership is pivotal in fulfilling the ARISE Agenda, aimed at addressing systemic unemployment and equipping youth with world-class skills and proficiency in their chosen crafts.
