Vcare for Development Foundation (VCDF), a Lagos-based not-for-profit organization, visited the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC) yesterday to discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
The VCDF delegation, led by Mr. James Ode and including members Blessing Mbong, Emmanuel Ibor, Kayode, Seyi Dare, and Muyiwa, explored ways to integrate DASAC’s programs to support communities in rural areas of Akwa Ibom State. They discussed various partnership initiatives aimed at leveraging DASAC’s resources to enhance VCDF’s mission.
VCDF, a Non-Governmental Organization operating in Lagos State and other regions of Nigeria, has previously collaborated with the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation (TCF) in Akwa Ibom State to launch the Sustainable Primary Eye Care Services (SPECS) program. This initiative provides essential eye care services to underprivileged individuals in Akwa Ibom State and beyond, benefiting at least 148 people in the region so far. Additionally, VCDF has positively impacted over 5,500 students and 260 teachers in Lagos through educational interventions and capacity-building workshops, fostering inclusive development for the younger generation.
During the tour, the VCDF team praised the Akwa Ibom State Government for its significant investment in skill development, emphasizing its crucial role in sustainable development.
Prof. Enoidem Usoro, the Rector of DASAC, welcomed the delegation and expressed enthusiasm for a mutually beneficial partnership with VCDF.
